11/05/2007 - Janco Steel Ltd. has just completed the successful installation of a AGT400 Thickness Gauge and Reporting System on our 1/4" X 72" Herr Voss Strand Extension slitting line. This will enable Janco Steel Ltd. to continue providing accurate finished product as per our customers requirements.

Immediate Opening -
Plant Foreman Position
We have an immediate opening for a Plant Foreman position in
our Stoney Creek operations. Applicant must have a
minimum of 1 years experience with and be fully trained on the operation of a
Herr Voss Cut-to-Length steel processing line.
In addition, the applicant must have the following skills
and experience:
- Set up
and operation of a mechanical shear
- Certification
in overhead crane operation (minimum 40 metric tonne)
- Experience
in operation of an Avon Slit Coil Packaging line
- Experience
with the operation of a Temper Tool shimless knife set-up system
- Completed
the due diligence safety training program
- Supervisory
experience in a steel service center environment
- Must
be able to visually identify different grades of steel
- Experience
with Enmark software for tracking inventory
A key responsibility of this position is the training of
other workers on the cut-to length line as well as training for the mechanical
shears and overhead crane operation. It is therefore critical that the
applicant can operate all of the above as well as communicate effectively with
other employees. Bilingual (English & Spanish) is mandatory.
Applicants for this position will be required to demonstrate
their skills and abilities in a practical test prior to successful employment.
This position will require some shift work and overtime. We
